Scones
Cranberry Orange
What you’ll need
2 cups Flour
1 egg
1/2 cup sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
2 and 1/2 tsp baking powder
1 Lg cup frozen cranberries
2 tsp orange zest
1/2 tsp salt 1/2 cup butter (frozen)
1/2 cup heavy Cream
Now that you have all your ingredients,
Let’s get started !
First, mix all the dry ingredients together. Use a good size mixing bowl. Cut in your frozen butter using a pastry cutter or fork. I used my old fashion metal grater you use for cheeses and other things you grate to get the butter perfect size before using a fork. Work that together until it’s incorporated and looks like little balls. Wisk together all your wet ingredients – now mix wet ingredients with your dry ingredients, add in your frozen cranberries then pour onto floured counter space. Form this doughy goodness into a disc that you will cut into wedges. we like a big ole wedge of scone in this house so I opt for the 8 part cut…you can double that and make 2 wedge disc and cut both in 8 sections for 16 smaller scones…but who wants a small scone??
Brush the top of this with heavy cream – for an extra golden brown crispness and sprinkle with course sugar for that sweet crunch that is sure to wow the group ( or just you) ha !
Refrigerate at least 15-20 mins or even make these the night before and wake up and pop in oven.
The colder they are the better they come out!
Bake 20-25 minutes
until golden brown, enjoy !!!

For added goodness I just whisked a little confectioners sugar with some of that orange juice and poured over while warm !
Remember you can change the add in from cranberry orange to anything you like.
