November

    November

Ahhhh the month with the holiday we skip right over to rush to Christmas…that would be Thanksgiving. And it happens to be my favorite holiday – Giving Thanks – What a wonderful concept.  A time to all get together and eat good food, reminisce about the past, bask in the now and dream about the future. The sweet aromas of pumpkin and apple pies bubbling over in your oven, the crackle of the leaves crunching under your feet on an afternoon walk, and the feeling of the warm house as you enter it on a brisk fall day.

So many wonderful things November gives us…just by being November.

Christmas has turned into such a commercial holiday with its main focus on money, gifts and more stuff. I give you a gift card – you give me one back…Yay and during that time of shopping we could of gotten together had cookies and tea and talked and laughed and connected. Remember that ? Connection ? It’s something I think we are all really learning to appreciate during these times of COVID… our need to connect. To BE together, see faces, hold hands, give hugs and actually touch our loved ones.

I think this year more than ever we will let the commercial side of the holiday really go, as we have done in our household a few years back and focus on other things. Give the gift of connection, or a homemade present. Reach out and call, face time, send a letter or card in the mail, go see someone and spend some quality time talking and laughing while being safe about it.

This years holidays will be so different without family and friends gathered around the table or at the house spreading cheer. But we will focus on what we do have and what we can do and continue to get creative in our endeavors. We will get through this and find our way. And maybe even learn a little bit about ourselves and each other. Taking stock of what’s really important in our life.

To be joyful, to be loved and to love and spend time with family and friends CONNECTING.

“The most important Things in life

are the Connections

you make with others”
